The Registration Process
As all entries are via the Club website, all those intending to enter will need to have a valid individual account, with username and password. If you already have an account use it as it has your swim history and any special status (like sharkbait) attached to it. Accounts are at race.lornesurfclub.com.au/Logon
The Balloting Process
All entrants for the swim ballot will be placed into a random draw. This will allocate a rank number between 1 and the number of ballotees. Swims are allocated to ballotees based on the places available. Unsuccessful ballotees will automatically go onto the waiting list in rank order. The waiting list will be allocated second round places if these become available.
Ballots are susceptible to people trying to rort the system. During the ballot drawing process we will check for any duplicate entries. If any duplicates are detected then the swimmer will be contacted; if there is no valid reason why there are two entries then both will be removed. The swimmer will be disqualified from entering the GMHBA Lorne Pier to Pub for two years.
If you are successful in the ballot, swimmers will have one week to complete the entry process and make payment. If you do not complete entry within the week, your entry will be put put to the end of the waiting list.
Second Round Offers
People who miss out on the ballot will go into a waiting list. People on this list will be offered places as they come available and will have a week to complete the entry process and pay. If you don't pay you will lose your place. If after the second round there are places available then there will be a third round of offers.
