I hope this email finds all our Members safe and well.

This is a further update to you all in regards to COVID-19 and information on planning for the season ahead.

Given the introduction of stage 4 restrictions in Metropolitan Melbourne and the reintroduction of stage 3 restrictions for all other areas of the state, the Committee has made the decision to conduct the AGM online in September.

As normal with the AGM, you will need to be a Financial Member to be eligible to vote.

Unfortunately due to these restrictions being reintroduced, all areas of the Club will need to remain closed, including the gear shed, changerooms, bunk rooms and gym.

Looking to the season ahead, planning is underway, however we are planning for multiple scenarios as clear guidelines on restrictions will not be available until closer to the season commencement. A Club Member, currently specialising in COVID planning, has volunteered to act as our COVID-19 planner for the season ahead which we are extremely grateful for. This will provide clear direction for the Club as we move towards our upcoming season.

At this point in time, we are still planning to complete our Silver Camp, Bronze Camp and Nippers Programs this season as normal or in a modified format. However, given the current COVID-19 infections in Metropolitan Melbourne, we can’t provide any certainty beyond the current planning process.

If you are considering booking accommodation based around these programs running, I would encourage you to proceed with your plans and support the Lorne community and businesses. Where else would you want to be in summer?!

In relation to other programs like Requal and Patrols, these will go ahead, but again, may be modified depending on COVID-19 restrictions at that time.

It is vital that members wear a mask when outside their home, continue to practice social distancing and personal hygiene to keep themselves and others safe and healthy and avoid non-essential travel as stated by the current guidelines.

As many of our members are in stage 4 lockdown in metropolitan Melbourne and Stage 3 restrictions in regional areas, please look after yourself and each other.
