COVID-19 Update – March 25, 2020

COVID 19 Update

This is a further update in regards to the current COVID-19 outbreak and what it means for our club.

Overnight there was additional restrictions put in place by the Federal and State Governments. The club has also received further advice from Life Saving Victoria in regards to club operations.

On that advice the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club building has been closed effective immediately.

This is all areas of the club including the changes rooms and gear shed.

All non essential club activities need to cease.

This also includes but is not limited to the ceasing of all volunteer training, structured active training (sport), nippers, use of bunkrooms, use of equipment, craft and non-essential access to club facilities.

Further to this, we must also cancel all remaining events for the season.

This includes; Club Championships, The Last Supper (Awards night) and the Captains Barrel event.

The AGM Date and details will be released closer to the event.

Club awards will still be compiled and presented via email and our social channels and presented at an event next season.

Rostered Patrols will also cease.

If you or your family members have an upcoming patrol/s, you are NOT required to attend.

This will greatly assist with the government directive to restrict non essential domestic travel.

It’s vital that members practice social distancing and personal hygiene to stay safe and healthy and avoid non-essential travel.

This is an extremely difficult time so please look after yourself and each other.

Regards,

Paul McMaster
