Bronze Camp is not only the perfect way to become a fully qualified Surf Life Saver, but it’s also a great way to meet new friends. The week long live-in camp held in December is a fun, challenging way to experience an introduction to Surf Life Saving. It is open for applicants aged 15 years and over and is instructed by fellow Lorne Surf lifesavers and members.
With the current COVID-19 restrictions in place in Metro Melbourne and Regional Victoria, the Lorne S.L.S.C. has not been able to arrange this season’s Bronze Camp with any certainty. As you can imagine, many of our trainers, assessors and candidates typically reside in Metro Melbourne making it incredibly difficult to ensure a camp or course can be held this year.
The Training & Assessment committee is currently working with the Executive committee and Life Saving Victoria (LSV) to discuss the possibilities, if any, there may be of a camp or course running at the end of the year. While we don’t have any answers at the moment, we are hoping to present some options to you in the near future.
If you’re interested in attending the 2020 Bronze Medallion Camp for the upcoming 2020/21 season, given it will be able to be held in line with COVID-19 restrictions or would be interested in attaining the award this year through a course in line with COVID-19 restrictions, please fill out the form below. We will then be able to contact you to update you on any and all options there may be for training and assessment this season.
